Grameenphone SIM top-up, calling and internet service will be closed for 5 hours

Grameenphone announced that GP Internet, Calling, Charging will be disconnected for 5 hours

GrameenPhone SIM mobile charging, calling and internet services will be disabled for 5 hours. During this time, only the incoming call service will work, the company said.

Grameenphone, Bangladesh’s most popular telecom company, confirmed the information today (April 21). GP will close their services for technical development work. The company already informs its users with SMS and pop-up notifications on the MyGP app.

According to the report, several services including Mobile Recharge, Call and Internet Service will be closed for 5 hours. The company will suspend these services on Sunday evening (April 22, 2024) from midnight to early morning. Services including Huisarts Internet do not work from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m., as stated in the message.

During this time, users will experience outgoing calls, mobile charging and internet issues. However, there will be no interruption in the incoming on-call service. According to the announcement, all services will operate properly after 6am.

So if someone tries to make calls or use internet on GP SIM, he will not be able to do so during the technical development work. Users will not be able to use the said services for 5 hours between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM. Services will return automatically upon completion of development work.

Note that GrameenPhone announced the minimum top-up amount of Taka 30 in the first week of January this year. The company later revoked the decision on January 10, 2024. GP withdrew the decision on the minimum top-up after a large number of users started the Boycott Grameenphone trends on Facebook.
