Real Real Lake beats the Chicago Fire 4-0 as the rising star flares up

RSL rises to second in the Western Conference as Chicho Arango’s breakout season continues

Real Salt Lake forward Cristian Arango, shown during a shootout win over the Houston Dynamo on November 6, 2023, had two goals and two assists in a 4-0 win over the Chicago Fire on Saturday.

Major League Soccer scoring leader Chicho Arango scored two goals and added two assists as Real Salt Lake defeated host Chicago Fire 4-0 on Saturday at Soldier Field.

Real Salt Lake improved to 4-2-3 and moved into second place in Major League Soccer’s Western Conference.

Andres Gomez scored in the 24th minute, with assists from Alexandros Katranis and Arango, to give RSL a 1-0 lead.

Arango then scored in the 33rd and 37th minutes, with an assist from Bryan Oviedo on his second goal. Arango now has eight goals and six assists this season.

In the 93rd minute, Diego Luna closed the scoring with an assist from Arango.

The Fire fell to 2-4-3 this season.

Real Salt Lake is back in action on April 27 in Philadelphia.
