Jaspers clinch Three Seeds – Manhattan College Athletics

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan men’s lacrosse takes the three seed after defeating Wagner 10-5.

Before the game, the Jaspers honored nine seniors this year. The nine senior Jaspers were Quinn BowlerPaddy Fraser, Luke Gueci, Connor Hapward, Spencer Moore, Robert Pousak, Rhys Porteus, Michael RasaAnd Louden Sheehan. After the ceremony, the Jaspers got off to a hot start, defeating the Seahawks 2-1 in the first quarter. They then beat them in every consecutive quarter until the end of the match.

The Jaspers’ strongest quarter came in the second, where they scored four goals, the most goals in the quarter between either team. Among the goalscorers this quarter was James Basile, tonight’s offensive leader for the Jaspers. Basile scored two of the four goals this quarter, one at the start of the second and the next just before the end of the half.

The Jaspers defeated the Seahawks 2-1 in both the third and fourth, further increasing their margin of victory.

Captain of the Jaspers tonight was Basile with a total of four goals. Basile also handed out one assist. Defensively, Hapward had a fantastic game on senior day, making 12 saves in total and only scoring five goals.
