Alex Laughlin wins the first Loser’s Bracket on NPK Season 7 – The Capital Sports Report

Alex Laughlin unveiled his new Street Outlaws No Prep Kings car on Friday. He then had a fantastic weekend at the season-opening race at Maple Grove Raceway in Mohnton, Pennsylvania.

The Texas native, who previously drove a Top Fuel Dragster and a Funny Car, won the Loser’s Bracket. This is the first year that there will be a winner’s bracket and a loser’s bracket.

With the win, Laughlin took home $10,000 after defeating Scott Taylor in the final round. Moreover, he took home 25 points.

“We won the $10,000 race at No Prep Kings,” Laughlin said in a Facebook post. “The comments on my social media have been so supportive and for that I am so grateful. The commenters in other places with the hate, the no-say’n, thanks for the push. All love to you all, the good and the bad. We got a W and beat some of the top dogs at No Preps.

“Grateful for our guys, the dedication that everyone in this group puts in, all the hard work and long days leading up to this, and especially the people who bought our merchandise here this weekend. It certainly helps us to keep going. A good start, everyone.”

Laughlin announced in December that he would be moving away from the Jim Dunn Funny Car. At that point, no one knew what his next step was. In recent weeks he announced that he would be running a limited schedule.

However, on Friday, Laughlin announced that he would be performing the entire Street Outlaws No Prep Kings schedule. He is sponsored by Hot Wheels and the other sponsors of his other projects.

After his first weekend, Laughlin is 3-1. He was eliminated in the first round by Kayla Morton.

After the loss, he then went to the Loser’s Bracket. He then defeated heavy hitters Justin Swanstrom and Jeff Lutz before knocking out Taylor in the final round.
